A demanding career in K-12 education led Alynthia to bring co-regulation, stress relief, and trauma healing to the classroom community through yoga. Lifelong learning has taken her across the country and around the world to support positive change in marginalized places with organizations like Memphis Teacher Residency, Peace Corps Response, and Creative Forces: NEA Military Healing Arts Network. Researching the benefits of mindfulness while witnessing the global decline in school mental health ultimately led her to pursue certification in Dance and Movement Therapy during the COVID-19 pandemic. After decades of bringing the creative arts and social emotional literacy to children, she officially became a Registered-Dance Movement Therapist (R-DMT) with the American Dance Therapy Association and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) with Breathe For Change.

smooth, soothing movements that help us to pay attention to tensions in the body and breathe release ... such a helpful class! she definitely can lead us through relaxing, gentle movements ... today my body had more aches than usual and under her tutelage I was more comfortable in my body after the class than when I started the class

what a relaxing half hour mid-afternoon this class offered me. wow. I've never tried gentle swaying AND humming or tapping AND humming -- it raised the bar for relaxing my (naturally) nervous tension. highly recommend this class. her voice was so soothing and matched our purpose in class -- to relax our body and our mind. success. her directions were clear and helpful. she's good!
