Tai Chi for Health & Wellness
About this Class
Commonly referred to as “meditation in motion”, Tai Chi is characterized by methodically slow, continuous, and circular movements designed to stretch the body, promote balance, and reduce stress. Participants are encouraged to move only within their level of comfort to ensure safety while practicing coordinated movements and deep breathing to promote concentration and focus. NOTE: We recommend comfortable clothes, bare feet, socks or flat, flexible shoes attached at the heel. You’ll need a space free of clutter on the floor of at least 6 ft. by 6 ft. Recommended props: chair (for a seated practice or balance)
This class is appropriate for all students with all experience levels, including new and beginner students who are still learning the basics.
Gentle, with slow sustained movement on the mat.
🎥 Camera-On Classes
We require all students to have their camera ON for the duration of class. This is for a few reasons: for the safety of all students, and for the teacher to be able to give in the moment feedback and support. Read more about this here.🎥 Camera-On Classes

At the suggestion of my Physical Therapist, I began attending your Qigong and Tai Chi classes 1.4 years ago. When my schedule permits, I enjoy 2 or 3 classes each week. I am 74 years old and have been treated for Multiple Sclerosis for 28 years. My current diagnosis is Secondary Progressive MS. I am a high functioning patient, using a cane to walk outside or a rollator for long walks. Over the past year I have seen progress in balance and movement through your classes. These improvements are greatly enabling as I have more stamina, ability to play more in my garden and keep up a nearly normal pace of life. I personally recommend Qigong and Tai Chi classes for anyone with MS. My physical therapist, whom I see twice a week, concurs.
