Yin Yoga

Fridays at 12:00pm
60min

About this Class

Yin Yoga supports and strengthens the Yin aspects of the body (connective tissue, ligaments and tendons) as well as enhancing and aligning the more subtle aspects of the body’s energy as it relates to Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Meridian system. The practice of Yin Yoga also “exercises” our mindful awareness muscle, increasing our capacity to be calm and present in the moment. Gain more ease and freedom in daily movement as result of this quiet, meditative practice. Recommended props: yoga mat, blocks (or books), bolster (or pillow/rolled up towels) Also meets: Wednesday

No Experience Required

This class is appropriate for all students with all experience levels, including new and beginner students who are still learning the basics.

Gentle, Slow

Gentle, with slow sustained movement on the mat.

What Students Are Saying

Victoria B

I've been going to Alice’s Yin yoga class every week, and I love it! Even though the poses are simple and we hold them for a long time, the class is stimulating. The instructor engages with us throughout the hour, which is great because it keeps things from getting boring. It's the perfect mix of self-care, relaxation, and learning. I recommend you give it a try even if you prefer a more vigorous style of Yoga. It will add balance to your practice.

I was moderately skeptical that this style of Yoga could be helpful for my old body. Boy, was I wrong. It is a life-changing experience twice a week as I practice. I am so grateful to be in the presence of a master instructor.
