Chris is a Kentucky native raised in Lexington. He has practiced Tai Chi for over 20 years while earning his Shaolin 2nd-degree black belt in Shaolin at the Sin Thé karate school. After serving in the Air Force and returning to Lexington with physical and mental health challenges, Chris leaned heavily into exploring the therapeutic and rehabilitative benefits of Tai Chi to support his personal recovery. For more than five years, Chris has taught Tai Chi at the Sin Thé dojo and throughout the Kentucky area at various festivals and workshops. In 2023, he earned his Level 2 Instructor Certification through the American Tai Chi and Qi Gong Organization. Shortly afterward, he was invited to lead a clinic at the Lexington Veterans Affairs Center. Due to strong interest and demand from veterans, his program expanded to three classes per week and has continued for over two years. Through his work with the VA, Chris developed experience teaching both hybrid (online and in-person) and traditional class formats. He now offers hybrid and in-person classes to serve a broader community.
