Niki Saccareccia

Joined Ompractice March 2018

Niki took her first yoga class at 12 and has been a student of the practice ever since. Her philosophy is that yoga is as much about what happens on the mat as what your mentality is all day long - managing stress, choosing love over fear and overcoming excuses. She holds an advanced Psychology degree from the University of South Florida, and is registered as an E-500 and Y.A.C.E.P. with the internationally acclaimed Yoga Alliance. Yoga is for every body, and her style is down-to-earth. You’ll move, and you’ll learn a lot, too! Expect variations of postures, modifications, props, breath work and specific cues to advance your own practice, class by class.

Niki's Yoga for Tight Shoulders and Neck class is the perfect little "bite-sized" yoga class. It's amazing that in just 30 minutes, she can help you feel relaxed, grounded, and stretched. As a beginner to yoga, this has been the perfect class to get me oriented to sitting and just "being" in myself. Niki's approach to yoga has been so accessible and welcoming. She demonstrates and explains each move and pose and then actually monitors the class to make sure that you're understanding. Her gentle reminders throughout class to respect your body and to meet it where it is has helped make me feel like yoga is indeed for me! I can't recommend her classes or style enough.

Niki is one of the most compassionate and engaged healer/teachers I've ever had the pleasure of practicing with. She somehow makes each class challenging for the first time and continuing student. She possesses and communicates a wisdom that has a way of resonating long after the ending of the class. Niki is supportive and informative. She goes into detail about proper positioning to support healthy movement. I especially like the way she coaches us through breath work. I recently had a fall and broke and dislocated my wrist. I had a 3 hour ER wait before I was treated. During that wait, I used breathing to manage my pain and remain calm. Because of the breath work (and imagery) I learned from Niki, I remained calm and tolerated the pain so much so, my blood pressure was only 100/74 when it was my turn for treatment. (I usually run upwards of 117-124!). Thank you, Niki.

Niki is an amazing teacher very gentle, clear, calming, and delicate when giving instructions. I also appreciate have feedback or other option for poses during class, it really alleviates the unnecessary wondering of the mind on if your completing the pose to avoid injury.

More about Niki Saccareccia

Niki is a U.S.-based E-RYT 500 yoga educator and teacher trainer, international retreat leader, author and wellness consultant. She is the author of Roadmap to Mindful Living, and the developer of a research-backed curriculum for creating sustainable changes in wellbeing. Her teaching approach is based on the fact that both mental and movement-based habits can “make or break” our quality of life and by using yogic tools, we can sustainably change our mindset and ultimately our life by relating to stress and suffering in profound ways. She serves on the medical team of Goodpath.com and is a contributing teacher on YogaWakeUp. In her classes, students learn about their anatomy along with the mindset or belief that moves them from one action to the next. Her students learn to cultivate a deep sense of presence and technique whether they are utter beginners or yoga teachers, themselves. And while Niki is serious about her work, her classes are down-to-earth, full of humor and humility and always welcome students exactly as they are from any walk of life.
