SPECIAL CLASS: Pilates Fundamentals with Barbara Hospod & Jayne Schmitz

75min

About this Class

Join Ompractice Pilates teachers Barbara Hospod & Jayne Schmitz to discover, explore, and/or refine your skills in this 75-minute Pilates Fundamentals Workshop. This moderate-paced class will follow the beginner/intermediate classical order for a full-body pilates workout. Class will include explanations of how each exercise prepares you for the next; and cues pertaining to breath, centering, control, and precision. All the exercises focus on what Joseph Pilates referred to as "The Powerhouse", bringing awareness to your alignment, while strengthening the core postural muscles - the abdominals, gluteals, and the back. This workshop is designed for those new to Pilates, or for those interested in improving their technique and overall understanding of the method. It will encompass one hour of training on the mat with both instructors alternating verbal cueing with demonstration. We’ll end the session with a 15-minute Q & A. Recommended props: yoga mat, mini ball (not required, but as a prop will offer some nice modifications for a few of the exercises)

This class is appropriate for all students with all experience levels, including new and beginner students who are still learning the basics.
