As we reflect on the lessons of Black history, some common themes that emerge are resilience, faith, creativity, joy and perseverance, despite seemingly impossible odds and obstacles. These are lessons that are also derived from consistent meditation practice and refining of our awareness to see things as they are with equanimity rather than gloss over them with platitudes or delusion. This practice will use mindfulness tools and allusion to the lessons of Black history to create space in heart and mind for resilience, faith, creativity, joy and perseverance to emerge.
