Yang Style Tai Chi
About this Class
Yang-style tai chi is known for its slow, gentle, and flowing movements, often referred to as "meditation in motion". It emphasizes upright posture, relaxation, and the "subtle" (inner) strength, coordinating movement with deep breathing, maintaining a "separated" or shifted weight, and keeping the body upright and relaxed. This class is standing, and welcomes beginners! Chris’s teaching approach emphasizes meditation and breath work while honoring the traditional martial arts foundations of Tai Chi. He focuses on body alignment and proper positioning to maximize therapeutic benefits. Classes typically include light warm-ups and stretching, guided breathing exercises, and instruction in Yang-style form and technique.
This class is appropriate for all students with all experience levels, including new and beginner students who are still learning the basics.
Gentle, with slow sustained movement on the mat.

🎥 Camera-On Classes
We require all students to have their camera ON for the duration of class. This is for a few reasons: for the safety of all students, and for the teacher to be able to give in the moment feedback and support. Read more about this here.🎥 Camera-On Classes
